You can delete your Bible Connect account and associated personal data at any time.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the app and sign in with Google.
- Go to Account.
- Scroll to Delete account and tap it.
- Read what will be deleted, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
If you cannot open the app
Email voledostudio@gmail.com, preferably from the email address associated with your Bible Connect account, with the subject "Bible Connect — Account deletion".
Identify the account you want deleted. If you no longer have access to its email address, let us know. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before deleting the account.
You do not need to reinstall the app or have an active subscription to request deletion.
What will be deleted
Subject to the limited retention exceptions below, deletion removes:
- your Bible Connect profile, authentication account and connection to Google Sign-In;
- your saved verses and likes;
- your My Candle progress, streak history and titles;
- your Embers balance and associated app records;
- your Ask conversation history, including questions and generated answers;
- your reading progress, preferences and reminder tokens.
Deleting your Bible Connect account does not delete your Google account.
Deleting your account removes your remaining Embers balance. By contrast, simply cancelling or allowing your Access subscription to expire does not remove that balance while your account is retained.
What may be kept
Limited records may be retained where legally required or lawfully necessary for accounting, tax, security, fraud prevention, compliance or legal claims, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
These records are retained only for the applicable period and restricted to those purposes. For example, limited purchase records may need to be retained even after your app account is deleted.
Records independently held by Google Play and data processed by other service providers are subject to the arrangements and retention rules described in our Privacy Policy. The app's backup period does not determine their separate retention periods.
Subscriptions are separate
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Google Play.
To prevent future renewal charges, cancel separately through:
Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Bible Connect
We recommend cancelling renewal before deleting your account. You can still request account deletion without first cancelling your subscription.
Account deletion does not automatically issue a refund. Refund requests are handled separately under our Terms and Conditions, applicable law and Google Play policies. Deletion does not remove your statutory rights.
Uninstalling is not account deletion
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or associated data and does not cancel your subscription. Use the deletion steps above or contact us by email.
How long it takes
In-app deletion: once you confirm, your account and associated personal app data are deleted immediately from the active production database, subject to the limited exceptions above.
Backups: residual copies may remain in protected daily disaster-recovery backups for approximately 14 days, until removed through the rolling backup cycle. They are not accessible to users or through public access. Deletion instructions are reapplied if a backup is restored.
Email requests: we handle verified deletion requests without undue delay and normally respond within one month of receiving your request. If a lawful extension is necessary, we will explain the reason and the extended timeframe within that month.
